HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARCH 25, 2008

TODAY is a great day to celebrate as our only daughter has a birthday and celebrates once again the fact that she was born. we are happy to be the parents of Rachel as she is a beautiful girl with lots to offer this world.
She is a teacher at West highschool in Tracy, Ca.and teaches in three languages when needed.
Living in Brazil for the most part of her life has helped her to learn many things that the usual student in public school in American does not get the opportunity. Learning another language is one of those opportunities.

We are wishing her the best day ever as this is her special day.
We also thank the Lord for each day He has allowed us to be a part of her life.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACHEL.

We love you.

Thankfullness is a gift

Being thankful is an art that some folks seem to never have aquired. In my old fashioned way of thinking I do beleive that being thankful is a blessing in ones life that many just do not have.

How much does it cost to say "thank you"? Not much. Just alittle effort on the part of the one who has recieved something.

It could be a gift, a kindness, a rememberance or just somehting that was done to another in the way of a kindness. A thank you is not required but it is always appreciated.

I am not sure what to do with people who never say "thanks". I am tempted to never send another gift, never remember that birthday or give anything to anyone who shows no kind of thankfullness.

I am wondering if the Lord feels that way about me? Hum....? Could be I have not been grateful enough in my life to HIM who has given me so much.

Each morning when I greet the Lord I am careful to ask for nothign but to priase him for the good nights rest, a roof over my head and food on the table and all the generous blessings HE gives me each and evey day.

It is important to never forget to say "thank you Lord" as He has done so much for us; we just take it for granted, I am afraid.

While I registered my complaint of my fellow man, the Lord has shown me I also must be quick to say thank you to HIM.

God is good to remind me of this.

To all of you who may read this little post today .............remember, I thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts. God bless.

A lot of candles!

My husband Philip is seen in the picture trying to blow out his candles. All the grandkids are helping him as there were sooooooo many.
He is now offficially 67 years old. He has earned all the white hair on his head; believe me.
We almost started a fire with so many candles. :)

Having the children around always makes for a jolly celebration as they think everything is wonderful! If I had known that grandchildren could be so wonderful, I think we would have had them first instead of the children we had. (just joking)
It is good to be alive today and good to celebrate with a man I have lived with for over 46 years. Maybe I have been responsible for some of those while hairs on his head. No doubt about that.
God is good and now I must go to bed. Once more it is past the witching hour and I am still up. Good night to all.

CHRISTMAS IS HERE AGAIN

I have been Christmas shopping today. There are only about 13 days left in which to do any shopping for loved ones. I needed to get "out there" and get it done. Why is shopping in the crowds such an ordeal for me? I confess I do not like to shop. It could be I am just lazy or maybe just like putting it off till the very last moment.

I promised myself that I would not do that. I would not put it off. Thank God for the internet and how easy it is to do shopping from the comfort of my home. I just point and clink and soon the truck is delivering something I choose at my door! What could be better thatn that? I am not sure, because it sure beats the crowds.

Saying "Merry Christmas" to the people who wait on me in the stores is becoming quite the contravarsy. Most clerks will not say "Merry Christmas" in return. They may say Happy Holidays, but no Merry Christmas. What strength! What caracter! Seems those who do not believe in the reason for Christmas are offended at the words Merry Christmas. It is so silly. I am offended at those who will not say "Merry Christmas"

If I tolerate you then you should tolerate me!

To all those who read my blog just know that I am wishing you a Merry Christmas and very Happy New Year with all the biggest blesssings you can possibly receive. Now, lets go have some hot chocolate and a good piece of homemade of fruitcake. Made it myself and it is very good.

Love to all,
Linda

Can't sleep tonight

It is 1:17 Am and there is no sleep tonight. What does a person do when sleep just does not come? It seems a waste of time to just lie there and try to sleep. I might as well get up and be busy with something. There are a lot of choices; I could eat something, read a book, watch a DVD, write a letter, read the Bible, worry about tomorrow or I could get on blogspot.

I chose to do just that. Not to much going on but maybe someone else has problems sleeping and you can read my blog!

My new knee and I went out for a shopping trip today. I guess it was about four hours and almost all walking around. So, that is an improvment for me. Usually I want to sit down, go home or at least get off my leg after a couple hours. It is getting better but of course not as quickly as I would like.

I will be baby sitting my grandbaby this next week. She is my helper in that she makes me do a lot of moving around! She is instant motion and she does not miss anything in the room. She is a moving machine for a one year old. I will post her picture. Her name is Savannah Love Walmer. She is a sweet heart and loves to be loved on.

God bless you for reading my blog today. Maybe now I will be able to go to sleep. Sleep will come eventually. Tomorrow is Sunday and that will be a good day. My son has reminded me that anyone who can walk around the stores for four hours can certainly go to church on Sunday. So, I guess I know where I will be in a few hours. :)

Have a good night! I am going to bed.

When I saw the picture I wanted to share it with you.

A friend sent me this picture of the Eye of God. I am not sure it is the eye of God but it just might be. We all know He does watch over us at all times.
As a young girl I sang a song that said " Becareful what you do because the Lord is watching you". I never feared that God would see something wrong that I was doing. Yet, I did not want to do anything that the Lord would see me doing that would be considered wrong by HIS standards.
I guess that song could scare little children. They might think that God is some enormous creature who just watches to see what they do wrong. Then he stands ready to punish them.
That is not the God I serve. Not at all.
He sees what I do; good or bad; yet he still loves me and offers me forgiveness when I "mess up" in some way. He is there all the time. I like the feeling, just knowing He is always there; with me. He lets me know when I need to change things in my life. He speakes, I want to listen.

Have a great day and remember that the Lord is with you.
